I just thought I'd check in since it's obviously been quite some time since my last blog, which proves that life goes on with or without us.
A certain amount of sadness comes over me whenever I start to write, thoughts of mom and living life without her phone calls to me or mine to her leave a void in my heart which indicates to me I MUST keep writing if I'm to survive this ordeal and get better. The more I vent the stronger I become. "Hats off to writing your way through the pain"(another Lindaism)
Fall finally fell on Ocala and it feels good. The wind is blowing, Fall decorations are all.about us,smells are changing from sweaty to sweety...I so love this time of year. For a while I thought the seasons had dementia, instead they were just being held up by the incredibly hot temperature we were forced to endure. All is well and God remains on the throne so until next time...

Mom
Since my last post, my mom slipped away but not without a battle. She fought so hard and I continued to believe she would wake up and laugh at the devil and tell him, "not yet buddy", but she got tired and weak and her body let her down. It wouldn't hold up its end of the bargain, and I know she wanted to stay a while longer with us. This fragile, aging tent we live in lasts but so long and under dire circumstances, it just falls apart. Her tent dwelling came apart piece by piece as we stood watch, praying and loving on her.
The moans and groans of pain of which we have no concept were uttered from her ailing body wanting to be left alone. Of course a patient has to be kept clean and dry as much as possible, it made the pain no less excrutiating for mom. Everytime she was touched or moved became a nightmare. I wanted to alleviate this torture but had no way to do it, so I helplessly watched and prayed for relief and healing for her.
Yes, there's consolation knowing that she's in Heaven, but my selfishness wants her here to fill this aching void.
Until later...

FRIDAYS
Wow! I have had some very long and tiring Fridays the last few weeks. My mom has been in the hospital for 3 weeks now and got worse as the days went by due to negligence on the part of "the hospital". I tell you everyone who has license to practice medicine is not on the same level...too many non caring people on staff at these facilities and we're at their mercies...not good. Knowing Jesus...good thing because ultimately it's all you got.
Grab hold to your faith and don't let go.

PRAYER
Our prayer life needs to be very strong, add a large dose of Faith to whatever you ask of the Father to help season that prayer and the things that you ask will come.
I believe that it's not how long you pray or how hard you pray but how much Faith you have is the important ingredient so as the Word says "When you ask, believe that you receive and you will have what you ask in Jesus name.
So, let's put our Faith together and believe!!!

Time Flies
The term "time flies" is often referred to having fun but I'm watching time fly even when there's no fun happening at all.The fact that time has picked up speed is an indication of the times in which we live in. Technology has changed our world and our life and the way we live it. Time saving is all the buzz but I sometime get less done with all the extra help I'm supposed to have.
Let's be honest, you get on Facebook at 9:pm and what time do you get off? You check your emails and get side-tracked by other downloads and find yourself several hours later hungry because you haven't cooked, no clean clothes because you forgot to do laundry, and what about that book you started over a month ago? It's like the more we have to play with, the less we have time for reality and the things we still have to do to maintain our lives.
Seems to me technology has a lot of cons as well as pros, huh?

Names
What's in a name? Well, I was told that names are very important because they label the person at birth and it can have some adverse effects on the life of that person. Many people are not aware of the fact that labels can limit or progress your future.
At birth, some parents seem to find joy in naming their child something difficult to pronounce or even spell or a name that has a negative meaning. I recently saw in the newspaper a young man with the middle name"Latanya". Seems to be a little "girly" to me...what do you think? Just because mom and dad love a name, thought they were having a girl but had a boy instead is NO reason to stick with the name you had picked out. PLEASE people, think before labeling your child for disaster. Do a little research and save your kid the embarrassment of being picked at or hating you for naming them something awful.Of course there are those who make up stuff and there is NO meaning, just a jumble of letters put together and can only be pronounced by the parents.
STOP THE MADNESS!!! Use real names!

FRIDAY
I'm singing 'the HAPPY song", you guessed it...it's Friday. My favorite time of the week, hoping it will stay longer this time. It's a day in training...soon it will know how to last and make my weekend longer or maybe I should just plan better.
Tomorrow I plan to go shopping for a possible Easter outfit---haven't done that in forever and think it's time to look good again, after all I'm on the market. lol. I may check out the Library of Congress display, it sounds interesting to a scholar such as myself. Then I'd like to pop some popcorn, relax and watch a movie until my prayer time at 8:30pm.
I plan to stretch my weekend till it pops.
Forgot to edit and post on Friday, now it's almost over, time to go to bed and start all over again...wishing for my sweet FRIDAY again.
